He sounds so beautiful...
While Hunter was on the breathing ventilator we were not able to hear him cry or make any noise because the ventilator cord would not allow him to do so. So when the cord was pulled out..we heard him cry for the first time. It really was beautiful to me!!

Taking it day by day....
Well he's finally here!!
Siosateki Hunter Tukuafu, born Jan 5th, 2009 @ 9:10am...8.02 lbs and 21 inches long!! Not so bad for being a month early! Ha
Things dont always go as planned or as we hoped but you have to take it as it comes. So I've had my hysterectomy, and now Im just trying to recuperate. What better way but to sit here in my hospital bed and blog about it.
Hunter unfortunately is in the NICU right now..according to the Doctors..when I was put to sleep for my surgery, it had been an hour already and Hunter consumed alot of the anthesia...before they had brought him out! So once he was out of my womb..he was just as much asleep as I was. So they now have him on a breathing ventilator. This has not been an easy pregnancy from the beginning and now it wont be such an easy process afterwards either but that doesnt make me one bit discouraged!! I wasnt able to see Hunter for a whooole day after he was born so my first time seeing him was very emotional. He's had such a traumatic delivery, and now he has to go through more. Ive had a couple of moments where I jus break down and cry thinking about him but I tell myself to be strong..especially for him. If you cant be strong for your child..you wont be making things any easier. Im so happy to have my husband right by my side helping me through all of this.
Im so proud of little Hunter..all the Dr's & nurses tell Teki and I that he's such a fighter! His first night in the NICU he pulled out the ventilator cord from his throat and the nurses thought he was ok to be without it because he was breathing fine on his own for that moment..but he stopped breathing a little while after and turned a dusky color so the ventilator was put back in.
He has the potential to get better and he's really trying to do so on his own..but its so hard to see him get set back.
I wish I could go through all of his troubles for him..and he could just be a healthy baby..but thats not the case. Anyway I think I'll stop here and continue tomorrow..Im ready to go visit my beautiful little boy!!
